More Funding for Education
More teaching positions are being cut, if our children are to be educated then why continue to cut a profession that is so badly needed. Many older adults may comment that all the good teachers have passed away, but if jobs in the teaching profession continue to be cut; how are we ever going to find out if there are some other good and qualified teachers that care about educating our children.

Extracurricular Activities
Teachers and Teacher Assistant have formed a group in hopes of coming up with extracurricular activities for students in grades 6-12 that would prove to be inexpensive to the parent or school budget. The much needed activities would help get students more involved with other peers and help those who are in need of social skills develop, so that they can communicate in society without being affraid or know what to say.
Your suggestions would help to determine what activities are best and beneficial to the students and at the same time inexpensive to parents and school budget. To start the discussion/suggestion, I recommend a club that I started three years ago.
-- MHS Bigbrother Bigsister Club; the club involves high school juniors and seniors. They are mentors to elementary students in grades 4th and 5th. Once or twice a week the students meet with their mentees to eat lunch in the school cafeteria or play games with them during their recess time. Once a month on Saturday's field trips are conducted, which gives the mentor and mentees quilty time together to just relax and have fun. It's at no cost to student or parent; fundraisers are conducted to raise money for field trips and purchase of tee shirts.
